Our Ecolodge

The ecolodge "La Estancia", located in the southern part of the Island of the Sun in Lake Titicaca, was built with the idea of combining modern comfort with the traditional architectural style of the area, respecting its harmony with the natural environment.

Its principles and management promote sustainable tourism, its operations involving mainly ecotourism, cultural and adventure activities.

The company is based in La Paz and has all modern communication and internet facilities, as well as a professional team providing support and responding to customers’ needs

It is important to point out all the direct benefits that the local community is already receiving from our project, namely:

• A monthly payment into a fund to support the community
• Use of boats owned by local people for transportation in the area
• Use of a local restaurant in a stop before reaching our ecolodge
• Use of pack animals for transporting luggage, a service operated by the local inhabitants
• Permanent jobs for people working in administration and services
• Temporary jobs in construction, gardening and maintenance
• Aymara Indian healers sharing their ancestral knowledge and practices with visitors to the ecolodge
• Provision of local vegetables, cheese and fish from the area
• People from the community playing native music on special occasions
• Community micro-enterprises associated with our project
